HPE and P2P Technology

HPE (Helmholtz Pressure Equaliser) is a technology that has been designed to convert pressure into velocity, and, in doing so, reducing the overall pressure gradient within the speaker enclosure. This technology is perfect for tall loudspeakers, as they tend to resonate at a single favoured frequency, and as such has been integrated into the 3050i Speakers in order to reduce the occurrence of cabinet resonance, vastly improving the overall performance.

Q Acoustics P2P bracing has been implemented throughout the entire 3000i Series and works to support the areas in the enclosure that require stiffening. This allows the enclosure to become extremely rigid, thus improving the focus of the stereo image and providing the soundstage with much more accuracy than can be found in previous entries in Q Acoustics earlier ranges.

High Frequency Driver Unit

The tweeters within the Q Acoustics 3050i Speakers have been decoupled from the baffle via a compliant suspension system. Because of this, vibrations from the woofer – vibrations that could impair the tweeter's performance – are therefore isolated, allowing the 3050i's tweeter to produce a performance that boasts a dramatic reduction in interference. The cone within this speaker has been precision formed using impregnated and coated paper, and teamed with a newly developed, low-hysteresis rubber surround. The coated paper cone will provide the best possible balance between stiffness and self-damping, enabling it to accelerate without flexing. It will also stop extremely accurately without any unwanted resonances finding their way into the performance.

Design

The Q Acoustics 3050i Speakers are beautiful on the inside and the outside, with as much attention to detail given to the aesthetic design as to the technology within. An all-new enclosure available in four beautiful contemporary colours (Graphite Grey, English Walnut, Carbon Black, and Arctic White) has been finished using an elegant chrome bezel around each driver, and magnetic speaker grilles offer an easy way to modify your speaker to your aesthetic preference. Low profile binding posts incorporated into these floor standing speakers feature sockets that are deep enough to accommodate 4mm Banana Plugs, and can be positioned very close to the wall, even when Banana Plugs rather than spades or bare wires are in use.
