QED Reference Audio 40 Phono Pair 3.0m Description

The QED Reference Audio 40 is part of a new concept range designed by QED labs. It has been designed specifically for low capacitance after QED identified this as a significant factor that leads to a high fidelity experience. Thanks to this low capacitance, the Reference Audio 40 will deliver tight sound and offer original rhythm retention. To provide the listener with the highest quality in sound reproduction, the Reference Audio 40 uses silver-plated copper that is arranged in such a way that the two conductors have different diameters, thus providing an alternate path for high-frequency audio signals and allowing these signals to avoid any time smear.

The foamed polyethylene dielectric used in this cable reduces the amount of signal lost to cable capacitance. QED-designed Analoc plugs have been fitted, acting as a low eddy current design that uses copper instead of brass. These plugs feature an outer locking cylinder that needs to be screwed forward before the "blades" of the plug can be locked onto the RCA phono socket, the locking cylinder can then be tightened to provide a very secure fit.
