The QED Subwoofer 40 Lead has been designed specifically for subwoofers following research and development initiatives it has been known that very low capacitance has major advantages over leads with higher capacitance and the subwoofer 40 Lead has been designed primarily for low capacitance, which is a major factor making for a tight sound which retains the rhythm of the original piece - critically important when handling low frequency base lines.

A vital and extremely important aspect of design in low frequency interconnect cables is the ability to timing and detail, retaining rhythm and tempo of the music - vital when it comes to the low frequencies that sub woofers handle. The new QED Analoc locking design of the termination plugs features high purity gold plated copper conductors in place of the usual large volume brass body found in ordinary "high quality" plugs providing added benefits such as maintaining the fidelity of the audio signal from start to finish.

The QED Reference Audio 40 uses two silver plated 99.999% Oxygen Free Copper conductors of different diameters to carry the same audio signal. This provides an alternative signal path for more subtle audio signals which might otherwise become in-audible on other interconnect cables
