Summary
300g Roshield Pasta Sachets
This listing is for 2 packets of 15 x 10g 150g sachets (Total 300g)
Rodenticide bait for the control of rats and house mice in and around buildings.
Our pasta bait is a ready-for-use bait formulated using a blend of high-quality culinary grade wheat flour, chopped grain, soft lard/vegetable oil and synthetic peanut flavouring to produce a high calorie, high energy feed. The use of synthetic peanut flavourings allows the product to be used in sensitive situations where products containing nuts would not be authorised for use.
Pasta bait is an extremely palatable and effective control product against all rats and house mice. Its high energy content makes it the preferred formulation to use in many situations and is particularly useful where rodents have declined to accept other baits. Taste adjuvants and flavours help to improve bait taken, and stabilising agents prevent oxidation.
We recommend using pasta bait within areas where rodents may otherwise not be interested in other rodenticide bait types, in particular cities like London and Birmingham. Mice in these areas generally do not associate wheat or blocks as a natural food source as they have likely adapted to other types of human food.
Roshield rodenticide products are manufactured in the UK using materials sourced from British farmers.
Every packet of 150g contains 15 x 10g of individually paper wrapped pasta sachets. Place the individual sachets (with the wrapping still on) into an appropriate tamper-resistant bait station.
For rat boxes, the pasta should be threaded onto the internal metal rod. We recommend between 5-10 sachets per station and, depending on the infestation's size, 2 or 3 boxes.
If using smaller mouse bait stations, we recommend inserting 1-2 sachets into the rear chamber. Several mouse boxes should be used in various locations, when possible, away from human activity.
Important rodenticide information
Please always read and follow the instructions on the rear of the packaging at all times and keep pets, children and non-target animals away from rodenticides.
It is a legal requirement for amateur users to use rodenticide bait within tamper-resistant bait box stations, regardless of the treatment location.
The amount of product required to control an infestation will vary on the size of the population and other food sources' availability. We cannot guarantee that a single packet or kit will control an established infestation; larger populations will always require a larger qty of bait. Additional purchase of rodenticide bait may be required.
The most common issue when controlling rats or house mice are users under-baiting an infestation by placing only a small amount of rodenticide to control a larger population can result in continuous activity over a long period, bait shyness from a sub-lethal dosage and, in extreme cases, resistance to the active ingredients. Whilst it can be difficult to predict the qty required, the average infestation is likely to need between 600g-1kg for rats and 150g-300g for mice. Treating a farm will likely require a significantly higher quantity of bait than a small population in domestic premises.
Rodenticide resistance is a small but growing issue in some areas of the UK, particularly in the towns of Reading, Bolton & Edinburgh. A handy resistance map is available by the RRAC (Rodenticide Resistance Action Committee), informing users of any potential resistance issue. We recommend some research to find out if you live in a known location. If you are in a resistance area, we recommend using our Roshield Brodifacoum blocks or ProPest wheat as there is no known resistance; however, this type of bait should only be used as a last option as the toxicity via secondary poisoning can complicate any treatments if under-baited. The majority of treatments are successful with difenacoum or bromadiolone, which should be used as the first step in control.
Packages containing rodenticide may be left by the courier in open porches or posted through letterboxes. Any animals, children or other unauthorised persons mustn't have access to the package on the day of delivery. Please do not order if you are unable to be present to receive the package. All packages are sent via a tracked service, and the reference will be uploaded and attached to the order within OnBuy. The majority of services also offer an SMS or email notification alert within an expected time of arrival, so we recommended that your details within OnBuy are up to date; however, we cannot guarantee that this service will be used.
Additional guidance instructions are provided on how to use Roshield products or can be downloaded via our website. Instructions are available on request in several other languages, including French, German, Dutch, Italian, Spanish, Swedish, Bengali and Chinese.
If in doubt about the quantity of bait or the required treatment, please contact us or a qualified professional for additional advice.
Rats and mice are associated with a high number of bacteria and viruses, so it is important to undertake the necessary precautions to protect your health before and after treatment. We sell a range of products, including our popular Roshield Sanitiser & Cleaner Spray, to clean areas associated with rodents.
Lastly and most importantly, any proofing works must be undertaken to prevent rodents from re-gaining access. Proofing for rats should be straight forward as their holes can be more obvious and easier to prove. A common access point within domestic premises is via the drainage, in which a guard can be fitted to stop further ingress. Mice can be more difficult, if not impossible, so we recommend users proof any obvious holes internally and externally. Fort Products has several options for proofing on our OnBuy store.
