Russian Tarragon

A popular herb also called Dragons Wort.

This plant is a strong, vigorous grower and is much hardier than French Tarragon.

However, it has a milder or less distinct aniseed taste.

Very easy to grow, producing an abundance of leaves, great for flavouring vinegars, pickles and sauces.

Ideal in salads, Russian Tarragon also goes particularly well with fish and chicken.

Try a few leaves shredded on scrambled egg, it's delicious.

Famous as an ingredient in Hollandaise and Béarnaise Sauces.

The leaves are rich in iodine, many vitamins, trace elements and mineral salts.

A hardy perennial, Russian Tarragon should be planted in rich, well-drained soil in full sun.

In years gone by it was the source of many myths and legends.
