Extractor fans with a built-in timer control means that the fan will operate with the bathroom light switch and then overrun for a set amount of time to continue removing moisture from the air. This is great for steamy bathrooms, allowing you to turn the light off but continue with extraction for a short time.
Building regulations stipulate that extractor fans need to be able to extract at least 15 litres of air per second. It s needed to ensure a minimal build-up of moisture in the room, reducing mould and grime in damp areas. This fan will extract a crazy 61 litres per second! That s over 4x what s recommended!
Inline fans are installed within your attic as part of your ducting system. An advantage of inline fans is that one fan can be connected to more than one inlet ducts which are in different areas, and the inline fan can ventilate both locations, so you don t have to install more than one fan unit.
Because of the way that in-line extractor fans are designed you can have them fitted in the loft so the duct point can be directly above the shower or bath. This means that any moisture can be extracted at the source, reducing steam and mould build-up.
IP44 Rating
