256GB Internal Storage - No USB Needed

This set-top box includes 256GB of storage, allowing for over 100 hours of recordings! You can easily rename, delete, or play recordings directly from the box onto your TV.

There's also a USB port on the front of the box for adding extra storage if desired, or you can dedicate a USB for Timeshift while using the SSD solely for recordings. This setup maximizes available space for your favorite shows while letting you pause, rewind, and save live TV in real time!

Intuitive EPG

With no USB storage concerns, setup and use are simpler than ever. Just connect the box to your TV and TV aerial to scan for channels. Channels are organized in an EPG, making it easy to browse upcoming programs and schedule your recordings in advance.

With the REC button, you can instantly start recording live, even if the show has already begun. Capture live highlights or unexpected moments!

Using the EPG, you can view a complete timeline of programs and mark any you want to record with the red button. This adds a red mark to the show and automatically schedules it for recording.

The Schedule Manager allows you to manually enter a channel, date, time, duration, and more to create custom recordings. These can be set weeks or months in advance, independent of the EPG. This feature makes the DVB502 an ideal Freeview box for recording while you're on long vacations or trips.

With these recording options, your set-top box will continue saving your favorite content whether you're watching, cooking, or enjoying a holiday far away.

Multimedia Player

If the Freeview EPG and your personal collection of recordings aren't enough, you can also play multimedia files from a connected USB device. Bring along a hard drive with your favorite movies or share family holiday photos on the big screen simply by connecting a USB storage device to the DVB502.

Subtitles are available for compatible broadcasts, with options for different languages. The DVB502 is designed with real users in mind, featuring hard-of-hearing modes and audio description (AD) options.

You can adjust brightness, display transparency, audio description volume, and display languages directly through the set-top box menu.

The remote control includes a dedicated Subtitles button (labeled "Sub-T"), allowing you to enable and change subtitles while watching without navigating through menus. This streamlines the process and enhances accessibility.

Security

For parental controls and security, the DVB502 comes with a pre-set passcode (found in the manual) that you can customize. This helps prevent children or unauthorized users from altering settings.

With the Channel Manager, you can also remove or hide channels to make them inaccessible to children, as well as rearrange channels so your children's favorites appear at the top of the list instead of the bottom.

Programmable Remote Control for Your TV

The set-top box remote can be programmed with basic commands for your TV, allowing you to use just one remote to power on your TV and start recording—eliminating the hassle of managing multiple remotes.

Full instructions are available in the manual, which details how to use your current TV remote to "teach" the new set-top box remote the necessary commands. Once set up, you can control your TV's power, volume, switch to the set-top box, and operate it all with a single remote.
