Leatherjacket Killer is designed to be applied topically, or in other words, when you recognise that leatherjackets are affecting your lawn. Nemasys advises that the little pests are at their most destructive in September, and at their hardiest in the summer months. As such, you can expect around 50 square metres of coverage from your Nemasys leatherjacket solution in the spring and summer, or 100 square metres of coverage in the autumn - the leatherjackets are weaker in autumn, so Leatherjacket Killer goes further.

Either way, you're strongly advised to pick up this natural Nemasys solution on an as-and-when basis - it keeps for two weeks when refrigerated, but because it's a natural product, it has an expiry date and is best used as-and-when you need it. Luckily though, Leatherjacket Killer from Nemasys is completely safe for pets, bees, kids, worms and wildlife - the nematodes only target leatherjackets, and you don't need to leave your lawn alone for the treatment to take effect.

Leatherjackets are the larval stage of the crane fly or daddy-long-legs and they can quickly devastate a lawn. Control leatherjackets naturally by treating with Nemasys Leatherjacket Killer when they are discovered and the soil temperature is 10°c - or apply when they are at their most destructive, i.e. in the spring (April) and in the Autumn (Sept/Oct).

Nemasys Leatherjacket Killer is normally applied in September as this is when the leatherjackets are newly hatched and most susceptible to the nematodes, but if you have discovered leatherjackets (not daddy-long-legs) at any other time of year, i.e. in the spring or summer, then treat at DOUBLE STRENGTH as the mature leatherjackets are much harder to kill, but you must treat in September as well.

This is why the Nemasys Leatherjacket Killer Pack treats 50 square metres in the spring or summer and 100 square metres in the autumn. Available for use under-glass or in sheltered gardens - order when you are ready to apply, as the product will only keep for two weeks in the fridge before you need to use it.
