How do deep fat fryers work?
Deep frying (also referred to as deep fat frying) is a cooking method in which food (including vegetables, meat, dough, and even chocolate) is submerged in hot oil. Deep fat fryers work by heating oil to a set temperature, which can then be used to immerse various forms of grub. Once it has reached the intended level, the oil heats the water within the food, steaming it (rather than penetrating it completely) across the surface layer. This results in a browned, crispy exterior, while the contents of items like chips and doughnuts aren’t left feeling greasy or overly soggy. Non-starchy goods like vegetables and fish require a coating of batter when cooked in a deep fat fryer, as this helps to prevent excessive water loss.

What’s the difference between deep fat fryers and air fryers?
