Amaryllis Amadeus. Huge 42-44cm Bulbs. White/Red

Amaryllis Amadeus. Huge 42-44cm Bulbs. White/Red Description

Amaryllis Amadeus

Amaryllis Amadeus is a striking bulbous perennial prized for its dramatic, trumpet-shaped blooms and elegant stature.

This cultivar produces large, pristine white flowers with distinctive red markings along the petal edges, creating a stunning bicolour effect that makes it a favourite among gardeners and floral designers.

Each sturdy stem typically bears 3-4 substantial blooms, reaching heights of 18-24 inches.

Native to South America, Amaryllis Amadeus thrives in well-draining soil with bright, indirect light.

The bulbs are remarkably easy to cultivate, making them popular choice for indoor growing.

During their active growing season, they prefer consistent moisture but require a dormant period with reduced watering to encourage reblooming.

The flowering cycle is typically late autumn through early spring when grown indoors.

After flowering, the plant develops attractive strap-like foliage that should be maintained to nourish the bulb for the following year's display.

Symbolically, amaryllis represents pride, determination, and radiant beauty.

Amaryllis Amadeus like its classical musical namesake, embodies these qualities through its bold, theatrical presence and reliable performance, making it an excellent choice for Christmas displays and cut flower arrangements.
