Begonia semperflorens Mix – Easy, Colourful Bedding Plants Description

Begonia semperflorens Mix - Easy, Colourful Bedding Plants for UK Gardens

Transform your garden into a vibrant display of colour with Begonia semperflorens Mix, also known as wax begonias or bedding begonias. A favourite among UK home gardeners, these compact, low-maintenance plants are perfect for adding instant impact to borders, beds, containers, and hanging baskets.

Each plant grows to around 6-12 inches tall, forming neat mounds covered in masses of bright, cheerful blooms. The mix provides a stunning variety of colours - from pink, red, and white to delicate salmon and rose shades. Attractive foliage, ranging from fresh green to deep bronze, ensures year-round appeal, even between flowering periods.

Begonia semperflorens Mix thrives in sun or partial shade, making it ideal for all types of gardens - from sunny patios to shaded spots beneath trees. Their naturally bushy habit means no pinching or deadheading is required, and they'll continue flowering beautifully from spring until the first frost.

For best results, plant in moist but well-drained soil and water regularly during dry spells. Feed monthly with a balanced fertiliser to enjoy long-lasting blooms. Though often grown as annuals, these begonias are technically tender perennials and can be overwintered indoors in frost-free conditions for another year of colour.

Their resilience against heat, humidity, and moderate drought makes them an excellent choice for gardeners seeking easy, reliable plants that deliver maximum visual impact with minimal effort.

Each packet contains premium-quality seeds, carefully inspected and packed in the UK for freshness and germination success.
