Sowing
Prepare the ground by digging if necessary, removing weeds, and raking to a fine tilth. Scatter the seeds evenly over the area and lightly rake to cover. Keep the soil moist and allow it to grow through autumn and winter.

Digging In
Before planting your spring crops-and before flowering-chop the foliage down to a fine mulch. Turn the soil thoroughly, burying all leaves and roots, and rake the soil level again.
