Marigold (French) Strawberry Blonde Description
Unwins French Marigold Strawberry Blonde Seeds are a lovely combination of striking colours that will thrive in borders or on patios in a sunny spot.
These pretty ruffled flowers are gold tinged with russet pink. The flower colour changes as the flowers age, creating an incredible multicolour effect.
They are great for pots and containers for adding a splash of colour to any outdoor space.
- Prefers full sun
- Prefers part shade
Flowering: June to September
Sowing
Almost fill a seed tray with moist seed compost. Sow seeds thinly over the surface and lightly cover with a little more compost. Place in gentle warmth at 10-15 C and keep moist at all times.
Growing On
Keep seedlings in a light position, shading from direct sunlight. When large enough to handle, transplant 5 cm apart into trays of potting compost.
Hardening Off / Planting Out
Gradually accustom plants to outdoor conditions for 2-3 weeks before planting out when the danger of frost has passed. Allow 25 cm between plants.
Aftercare
Water regularly, especially during warm weather. Feed fortnightly when flowering and remove dead flowers to prolong the display.
Advice
This variety features striking colours and thrives in sunny spots. Perfect for pots, containers, or borders, it creates a vibrant display on patios or in garden beds.
