The single, delicate medium-blue flowers of this variety have an outstanding fragrance.

Delft Blue is true blue dazzler and a classic favourite.

These bulbs are specially treated in a way that makes them bloom early which is usually described as "forcing".

Hyacinth bulbs are supplied in September for planting in pots and growing indoors, they are a popular, fragrant Christmas flower.

It is usual to plant only top-size bulbs in pots for indoors use.

When planting Hyacinth indoors bulbs should be planted in bowls of peat or bulb fibre, leaving the top of the bulb just above the surface and then weigh them down with sand or something similar, this stops the roots pushing the bulb upwards.

Store in a cool dark place and water when required ensuring that the fibre is never allowed to dry out.

Once the shoots appear bring the pot/pots into a warm, light room and the buds will begin to bloom.

Hyacinth Delft Blue can also be grown indoors in a special container using just water.

Blooms should be removed as soon as they begin to turn brown.

Leave the stalk and leaves to die back so that the bulb can be used again.
