Smooth-skinned, spherical roots with deep red flesh. This improved Boltardy-type, bolt-resistant variety is ideal for an early crop.
Sow: Mar to Jul
Harvest: Jul to Oct
Sowing Outdoors
Sow seeds thinly, direct into the required harvest position, 2.5 cm deep. Keep soil moist at all times to prevent roots from becoming dry and woody. When seedlings are large enough to handle, thin out to 10 cm apart.
Growing On
Use thinnings in baby leaf salads. Protect crops from frost or cold wind with fleece.
Aftercare
Beetroot can be lifted and stored in sand; ensure they are kept frost-free.
