Sowing Indoors
Level-fill a module tray with seed compost, firming gently with the base of another tray. Water well using a fine rose. Sow seeds individually, covering with 1 cm of compost. (Seeds can also be sown singly in 7 cm pots.) Keep moist at 10-15 C.
Planting Out
Once established, gradually acclimate young plants to outdoor conditions over 2-3 weeks before planting out to cropping positions, 45 cm apart. Keep well watered during dry spells.
Sowing Outdoors
Sow seeds thinly in shallow, pre-watered rows. Lightly cover with soil and keep moist until seedlings are established. Thin to 10 cm apart.
Transplanting
When seedlings have produced about four leaves, transplant them to their cropping positions, leaving 45 cm between plants in rows 60 cm apart. Firm in and keep well watered during dry spells.
Advice
