Onion RED BRUNSWICK Late maturing, medium to large, semi flat bulb with dark red skin and white flesh with red rings. Red Brunswick is an old, tried and tested variety with a mild and pleasing taste. Onions are easy to grow but they do need a long season generally 100-120 days. A reliable and consistent cropper Red Brunswick also stores well and will keep well into spring. Mild enough to be eaten raw Red Brunswick makes a very attractive garnish and when sliced to show off its distinct red rings and added to salads is particularly eye-catching. Can also be cooked and added to pasta and many other dishes. Red Brunswick likes an open, sunny site with fertile, well-drained soil. Onions do not need a lot of protection but early sowing will benefit from the use of cloches or horticultural fleece in exceptionally cold or wet weather.
