Ishikura

Ishikura is an outstanding spring onion that forms long white stalks and does not bulb.

Sometimes known as scallions, spring onions can be sown from late winter to late summer at 2-3 week intervals.

Succession sowing like this will give continuous cropping in spring, summer and autumn.

Quick growing, Ishikura has silvery white skin with short green tops and resembles a young leek.

It has a delectable mild flavour that makes it ideal for salads, sandwiches or stir-fries.

The perfect spring onion for bunching.

Spring onions will grow in any fertile well drained soil and can be ready to harvest in around 50 days.

They can be harvested when they are about the thickness of a pencil or left to mature and pulled later in the season.

Very hardy, spring onions can be over-wintered under cloches and can be used as a companion plant to deter carrot fly.

Spring Onion Ishikura shows very strong disease resistance.

Refunds will be issued when items are received back in saleable condition within 14 days from original dispatch date.
