Tomato (Cherry) Monterrey F1 (Organic) Description
These Unwins Organic Cherry Tomato Monterrey F1 Seed are a tasty and uniform cherry-type tomato.
This heavy cropping variety has a good disease resistance and the will last really well after picking. Sow these seeds indoors. They are perfect for pots and containers. These tomatoes are vitamin-rich.

Harvest: Jul to Sep
Sowing Indoors
Level-fill a module tray with seed compost, firming with the base of another tray. Water well with a fine rose. Sow seeds individually and lightly cover with vermiculite. Place in a propagator at 18-20 C, or cover the tray with cling film and leave in a warm room. Keep soil moist.
Growing On
When shoots appear, remove cling film. Keep seedlings in a light position but shade from direct sunlight. When plants have 4 leaves, transplant into 8 cm pots of potting compost. Grow coolly and steadily at a minimum temperature of 15 C.
Planting Out
Gradually accustom plants to outdoor conditions for 2-3 weeks before planting out when temperatures exceed 10 C. Transfer to large pots (minimum 30 cm), grow bags, or a border, spacing plants 45 cm apart, either in a greenhouse or a sunny, sheltered spot outdoors.
Support
Cordon/indeterminate/vine varieties require training up canes, strings, or wires. Remove side shoots as they appear.
Advice
Tomatoes are thirsty and hungry plants. Feed and water regularly, ventilate your greenhouse on warm days, and pinch out the growing tip once it reaches the top of the support, allowing a maximum of 6 fruiting trusses.
