Broad Bean Aquadulce Claudia

The gardener's favourite variety for autumn sowing but does equally as well when sown in spring.

Sown in autumn Aquadulce Claudia produces a hardy plant that overwinters well and produces a very early crop of beans.

Sow in succession from autumn to early spring and you can enjoy broad beans from late May to August.

The glossy, plump pods are approx. 9 inches long and normally contain 5-8 white beans.

Succulent and very tasty, they have a lovely creamy texture when cooked.

Because they can be harvested and on the plate in minutes the beans are sweet and tender with no hint of bitterness or toughness.

Broad Bean Aquadulce Claudia is a good variety for freezing.

An old favourite still highly regarded by most experienced gardeners.
